Lewis Baltz, 1945 – 2014

Lewis Baltz passed away on the 22nd of November.

One of the most important figures of the New Topographics Movement and of Conceptual art, Baltz was also a key writer and critic. His minimalist and reduced compositions shared artistic concerns with painters and sculptors of his day such as Donald Judd, Frank Stella, Carl André or Sol LeWitt.

Here is a link to his final interview conducted by Jeff Rian, on the occasion of his exhibition at Le Bal in Paris last summer.
