Montabonel & Partners is an independent art consultancy firm whose central concern is the transfer of knowledge within a specialist eco-system. The partnership provides bespoke strategies and advice to governments, foundations, private collectors, museums, and international companies engaged in building collections of Post-War and Contemporary Art. As the boundaries between museums, international art galleries and important private collections become progressively indistinct, the role of mediation and guidance grows ever more significant. These activities are complemented by the development of philanthropic initiatives, which in turn benefit major curatorial projects in the form of exhibitions and educational events such as international symposia. Great importance is given to strong working relationships with other parties, an important consideration when dealing with cultural legacy, and, in particular, the development of support strategies for Artists’ Estates.
All work undertaken is supported by a significant body of research, some of which is presented by Alaska Editions in the form of artefacts and publications.
